Using Skin Glue in Survival Situations. Not everyone has the knowledge and skills to give stitches when someone is injured. Skin glue is a viable alternative in some situations.
One of the more serious threats to survival in a SHTF situation is an infection. Any cut or scrape that would have been almost ignored before the disaster occurred is now something far more serious. Any open wound on the skin is a highway for bacteria to get inside and start an infection from dirty water, unclean living conditions, and sanitary issues.
Many preppers take steps to have robust first aid kits in their preps but one thing often overlooked is skin glue. Using skin glue does more than just closes wounds! It also protects the area and speeds healing. In a pinch, industrial Super Glue can be used but it is not recommended if you have the option of getting the medical grade. The medical grade will last longer and protect much better.
Not only does skin glue help with the healing, it’s certainly a lot easier than stitches or staples that have to be removed at a later time. Unless you’re a doctor, not many people have the stomach to stitch someone’s skin to close a wound, not to mention the pain of it. Using skin glue is much easier, especially for survival!
