Mastering skills for SHTF. These are the particular set of skills that will increase your chances of actually making it through a disaster. Practice them.
When it comes to survival, there are so many skills that will be important to have that no one person could know them all. There are, however, a particular set of skills that will increase your chances of actually making it through a disaster. These skills, while not all ‘hard,’ will still take practice to master. Even lighting a fire, in more than one way, takes practice! Once started, it takes practice to keep it going, too.
The basic skills needed are the ones that will meet the needs every human requires to stay alive. Water, air, food, warmth, and shelter. Understanding and having practical skills in multiple ways to meet these needs is what will get you through the toughest parts of a post-disaster scenario. Not only that, they will also help you thrive and rebuild afterward, too.
The more you know, the more valuable you are to your family and the overall community. Compiling a library of books on old-school skills and then learning how to do several of them well is one way to look beyond the initial disaster toward the future of you, your family, and those around you.
