Family Friendly Prepping Activities for Spring. All of these are excellent tools to train yourself and your kids on how to survive if you are stuck without modern conveniences. They are fun too!
There are so many things people do for FUN that are actually prepping activities and no one ever said prepping activities couldn’t be! How about camping? That is surely a family friendly prepping activity that can be started in the spring when temperatures warm up. Some may ask, “How is camping a prepping activity?” Let me explain.
When you are out camping, generally speaking, you are off the grid. There is no running water, no electricity, and no plumbing. You are cooking over a fire, boiling water and keeping warm with the fire, too. You have to be prepared to deal with bad weather, the fire going out, wildlife, and other such things. All of these are excellent tools to train yourself and your kids on how to survive if they are stuck in the woods.
Camping is just one of many things you can do to help get your family in the right mentality without it being ‘weird.’ It makes perfect sense to teach your kids the difference between a cooking fire versus a heat centered fire that will last all night long. A hike is a great time to learn how to identify edible plants you pass by. SO MANY OPTIONS!!
